Tax is a very contentious issue for the wine industry. Elements of the industry are currently lobbying for changes to the tax regime. However, any change has the potential to cause unintended consequences and of course there will be winners and losers.
While there is little appetite for government to change tax systems at this time, that is sure to change, possibly sooner than we expect. Finlaysons and Australian Grape & Wine believe the industry should be prepared and are, therefore, interested in the sector’s views on tax in the short, medium and long term.
